When a young lady, filling her application for overseas duty with the Read Cross, in a US overseas Army Command, came to the question asking if she were prepared for the journey, she wrote: "I can say "No" in 12 languages".

A cavalry sergeant was asked: "Is it true that when you are learning to ride, it gives you a headache".
"Oh, no. Quite the opposite".
A lady asked an old salt: "Do those tattoo marks of yours wash off?"
